High Country + High Design

A complete reimagining of an existing home resulted in the creation of a series of outdoor rooms - each related to the immediate interior program. The vibe here was relaxed comfort with a nod to a more formal garden aesthetic. A key goal was to make sure that the garden felt “Idaho “ but also was composed enough to relate to the home and interior detailing.  The result is a garden that feels at home-in-situ while also referencing some classical and modern garden concepts.  The outdoor dining area, situated next to the great room, is designed to seat 16 + people comfortably. We conceived a stone wall that acts as a sound buffer to the driveway on the other side and a canopy of trees overhead, “which creates this wondered dappled light in the summertime, when we mostly eat outside,” says our client.  A fire pit, installed beside the river, remains our client’s favorite spot. In addition to being the perfect spot for morning coffee, It offers younger members of the family a base from which to skip rocks or fish.
