Do No Harm

A good mantra always. Sometimes the sites and land we are fortunate to work on are so beautiful that our work is cut out for us. The river forest here provided a great setting for a retreat cabin, and as such our charter was to make sure that the retreat stayed a retreat. We added a boardwalk to allow for clean access and then planted back the edge extents to encourage nature back in.  Ultimately the cabin will be less visible as the forest and willows and grasses grow back in. A simple patio provides a nice use space to the house which is just adjacent though out of the frame. Casual chairs, casual stone layout, + fire make for a some great chill times, though warm enough with the fire. Also integrated heaters in the pergola work well.
